Our Landscape Photo Tour in brief:

The Swedish West Coast is a breathtaking stretch of coastline known for its rugged beauty, charming fishing villages, and a rich maritime culture. With its dramatic cliffs, serene archipelagos, and crystal-clear waters, this region offers a stunning backdrop for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers!

For six days (incl. five nights), we will explore the dramatic Swedish West Coast with special focus on landscape (and seascape) photography. We will visit the best photo locations on the coastal stretch between Gothenburg and Fjällbacka. You will have the chance to create stunning photographs at the most fascinating and inspiring places! We will take advantage of the most atmospheric light and mainly photograph in the mornings and evenings. During the day, we have time to discuss the results of the shootings and edit our photos together. I will show you my post processing workflow in Lightroom and how to enhance the effect of your photos fundamentally in just a few steps.

Together we will improve your photography skills and you will be able to create meaningful stories without any words - through photographs that speak for themselves. I make sure that you will have an unforgettable photography experience!

Explore spectacular seascapes

The Swedish West Coast features a mix of rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and lush coastal greenery, creating a picturesque setting that provides photographers and nature lovers with endless inspiration.

The area is dotted with islands, each boasting its own unique character, creating a fascinating archipelago with thousands of islands. From the popular Bohuslän archipelago to the tranquil shores of Tjörn and Orust, these islands offer endless subjects to photograph, from magnificent lighthouses and rugged coasts to quaint villages.

Discover Charming Villages

Charming fishing towns like Smögen, Fjällbacka and Marstrand are known for their colorful wooden houses, bustling harbors, and delicious seafood. These villages exude a warm, welcoming atmosphere and are perfect to be captured in unique photographs.

Wildlife and Nature

The region is home to diverse wildlife, including seals, seabirds, and various marine species. With a bit of luck, we will be able to spot the White-tailed Eagle, one of Sweden’s major predators. We will visit some of the most beautiful Nature Reserves at the West Coast and will be able to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the natural environment.

Cultural Heritage

The Swedish West Coast is steeped in history, with remnants of its maritime past visible in traditional boatbuilding, fishing practices, and local festivals that celebrate the region’s heritage.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrival day

In the afternoon, we will meet at our first hotel Good Morning+ Göteborg City, located in the center of Gothenburg (just 1,3km from the central train station). On this first day, I will give a short introduction about the manual camera settings and ideas for compositions in landscape photography. We will have dinner together, talk about the plans for the photo tour and share other important information. We will also have time to explore Gothenburg in the warm evening light and if the conditions allow it, capture the sunset from the most beautiful viewpoint in the city.

Days 2-5 - Exploring and photographing the Swedish West Coast

On the next 4 days, we will explore and photograph the most scenic spots at the Swedish West Coast north of Gothenburg. Dramatic cliffs like in Stångehuvud Nature Reserve or Ramsvikslandet are waiting for us to be captured in stunning photographs. But there are also dreamy fishing villages, lighthouses and so much more to photograph! Our accommodations will be close to the best photo spots, so we will have chance to shoot both during sunrise and sunset. We will plan each day dependent on the weather, but be prepared to be outdoors from sunrise till sunset. There is a list of locations we want to visit during the trip, but we won't have a fixed itinerary to be able to give you the best possible experience. Of course I will be available for any questions during the whole trip!

On the last day of the photo tour, we will stay on the Weather Islands (in Swedish Väderöarna), where we will be treated with Swedish fika, lunch & coffee and a two-course dinner in the evening. Furthermore, you will have the chance to bath in wood-fired hot tubs & use the sauna by the sea.

Day 6 - Departure day

On the last day, we will have the chance to use the morning for a photo shooting. After that, we will drive back to Gothenburg to be able to catch the boat/train or airplane in the late afternoon.
