Our Landscape Photo Tour in brief:

Join me on this exciting photo adventure to the High Coast of Sweden, one of the most fascinating and inspiring destinations in the Nordics!

Formed by gigantic glaciers during the Ice Age 10.000 years ago, the emerge of the coastline from the sea has created a very unique landscape consisting of high cliffs and rugged islands. The High Coast of Sweden as travel and photo destination is truly a hidden gem, although the area is listed as UNESCO World Heritage for being the world's highest coastline at more than 280 meters above sea level.

For four days (incl. three nights), we will explore the best photo locations at the Swedish High Coast with special focus on improving your photography skills! I am sure you will be astonished by the breathtaking views from the top of the dramatic coastlines - overlooking deep and unspoiled forests, river valleys alongside picturesque fishing villages and above all the scattered islands that create the archipelago of the High Coast. The beautiful autumn colors will give this unique landscape the final touch and make it the perfect time to visit the area for landscape photography! We will take advantage of the most beautiful light and mainly photograph in the mornings and evenings. During the day we might have time to edit our photos and I will show you how to get the most out of your photos in just a few steps.

Together we will Master the Art of Photography and you will be able to create powerful stories without any words needed - through images that speak for themselves. I make sure that you will have an unforgettable photography experience and go home with the feeling to have learned something new!

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrival day

In the afternoon, you will be picked up either from Sundsvall train station or airport, depending on what means of transport you will arrive with. We will plan the pick up according to the time schedule of your flight/train arrival. On this first day we will drive to our first destination Härnosand in a comfortable minibus. It will be our orientation and meet and greet day.

We will have dinner together, talk about the plans for the photo tour, and share other important information before the workshop begins. If time permits, we will head out for a sunset shoot.

Days 2-3 - Exploring the High Coast of Sweden

On the next 2 days, we will be hiking, exploring and photographing scenic spots at the High Coast of Sweden. At this time of the year, we will experience the beautiful autumn colors and will have the chance to shoot both sunrise (at around 07.00 AM) and sunset (at around 06.30 PM). We will schedule each day dependent on the weather, which can be unpredictable, but be prepared to be outdoors from sunrise till sunset. We have a list of locations we want to visit during the trip, but we won't have a fixed itinerary to be able to give you the best possible experience.

On our first day I will explain the manual camera settings and basics in composition, but I will of course be available for any questions during the whole trip!

On our last evening of the workshop we will be having our farewell dinner together as a group, and share one last meal and drink together.

Other important information

We will meet at around 16.00 on Thursday either on the parking lot at Sundsvall train station or at Sundsvall airport (depending on how you arrive). I will pick you up in a comfortable minibus and together we will go to our hotel in Sandöverken. We will go around with the minibus for the whole trip, visiting amazing photo locations and the most beautiful places at the High Coast. Please do not expect to arrive back in Sundsvall on Sunday earlier than 16.00.

Physical Requirements

It’s important to note that we will do some hikes on this trip. Some of the hikes are short yet steep hikes, and some other can reach up to 5-6km (return trip) with elevation gains. The hiking trails can be uneven and slippery in some places. For this reason, those with heart issues, knee or leg issues, or any other problems that prohibit longer hike ability, will have a difficult time with this workshop.

The hikes we will do are very much worth the effort, but it is VERY IMPORTANT that you have a suitable physical fitness to hike up mountains! If any location is out of your comfort zone, you’re more than welcome to shoot another location, stay at the hotel and rest, or wait until we get to another more comfortable location for you.

Experience Level

We welcome all experience levels, going from beginners to experienced photographers. A good mix of experience levels means we can also learn from each other. It is important that you bring your own camera and tripod, so you can get the most out of this trip!
